Dr. Hamidah Marican has an MBA (Training & Development) and has completed her doctorate in Values based management. She began her career in the 1980 as a teacher, then lecturer (12 years in academia) before making a quantum leap into the corporate world. It is hence not surprising that she is actively involved in the Living Values Education Program (LVEP) programs under the UN sponsorship. She conducts values workshops for educators, students and parents. Hamidah is an experienced consultant in the field of Organizational Development and Diversity. She has more that 10 years combined experience with Intel Corporation and Shell Oil. She has presented papers at international conferences in the US, Europe and the most recent (2003) being at the Women in Management Conference in Dubai, UAE.
She also led a group of 20 facilitators in facilitating the “CEO’s Round Table Conference” at the Women @ Work Summit (August 2003) organized by the Ministry of Women & Family Development, Malaysia. At Shell, she designed and delivered the Diversity awareness workshops and co designed & delivered 2 workshops: Beyond Boundaries- Effective Communication across cultures & Women's Development workshop-providing women skills and knowledge to be successful at the workplace. Her work has provided her with many opportunities to work with diverse cultures in many countries – Malaysia, Brunei, China, Thailand, UAE, US, Netherlands, Britain, Costa Rica, India and Pakistan. Her expertise includes Change & Transition Management, Leadership & Management Development, Strategic Planning, Cross Cultural Training, Malaysia Culture Awareness, Diversity & Inclusion and Harassment Avoidance.
